The Class of 2024 prepares to depart to 71 colleges in 22 states and five countries

RE’s Class of 2024 will be matriculating at 71 colleges and universities in 22 states (and the District of Columbia) and five countries in 2024-25. Ransom Everglades seniors not only will attend traditionally sought-after schools – they received acceptances to all of the Ivy League schools, MIT and Stanford – they also will matriculate at highly selective liberal arts colleges, acclaimed public research institutions, extremely competitive drama/music schools, highly regarded international institutions and universities with renowned specialty programs.
On May 1 – National College Decision Day – Ransom Everglades seniors assembled wearning "I ♥ 24" shirts on the Touzet Patio of La Brisa to hear congratulations and words of encouragement from Head of School Rachel Rodriguez, Executive Director of College Counseling Jason Locke and Director of College Counseling Patrick Tassoni. COO and Interim Head of the Upper School David Clark '86 also attended to cheer on the seniors.

"We are so incredibly proud of you," Rodriguez said. "Know that all your choices just help you on a different path, and there's no one path better than another – there are just individual and unique paths ... On behalf of Mr. Clark and our professional community, we just want to say congratulations!"

The seniors enjoyed RE cookies, took photos, and spent time compiling advice and well wishes that will be digitally archived for future classes – a tradition begun with the Class of 2023. Though the students plan to wear their college T-shirts for a photo later in May, they gathered for the Decision Day event in the Class of 2024 shirts to show their appreciation to their classmates and school.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it." The school provides rigorous college preparation that promotes the student's sense of identity, community, personal integrity and values for a productive and satisfying life, and prepares the student to lead and to contribute to society.
