The Constance & Miguel Fernandez STEM Center, unveiled in August 2020, overlooks a beautifully landscaped quadrangle that is a major center of student life at the upper school. The three-story, 45,000 square-foot, glass-walled center features flexible spaces for innovation and collaboration, and state-of-the-art classrooms, maker space and laboratories. It welcomes students from throughout the campus who are engaging in interdisciplinary work or looking for a comfortable place to collaborate or study. Students gather for events, performances or just to hang out at the Mendelson Family Plaza and Steps, and they use the indoor Posner Lecture Hall for assemblies or large meetings indoors.
In October 2022, Ransom Everglades opened La Brisa, a restored century-old villa on the shore of Biscayne Bay that is the administrative heart of the school. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, the former Chair of the RE Board of Trustees, described it "as the centerpiece of a verdant ribbon of land Ransom Everglades purchased in 2016." La Brisa houses RE's admission, advancement, alumni, and inclusion and community engagement offices. Enjoy the look on La Brisa below.
