Senior and junior parents prepare for the college process

Jason Locke, Executive Director of College Counseling, and members of the college counseling team kicked-off the school year by hosting senior and junior parents in the Lewis Family Auditorium Aug. 29 and Sept. 5. Both sessions provided an opportunity for a conversation about the college application process and outlined the policies and practices that will guide students through an effective college admission process.
Besides Locke, students heard from Patrick Tassoni, Director of College Counseling. Tassoni did an exercise with parents asking them a series of questions about what they hope for their student during the college admission process. Parents provided answers to these questions, and they were shared with the group. The responses were also shared with senior and junior students during their kickoff meetings with the College Counseling Office. This is an exciting time in the REimagining of the college counseling office as they begin the new school year with a commitment to a more personalized relationship with students and parents.
