Middle schoolers enjoy a journey through the French-speaking world

Middle school students enjoyed a celebration of French cuisine, culture and history during La Journée de la Francophonie, an event designed to provide education and awareness of the French-speaking world.
Organized by French teacher Maria Eugenia Abrante, the festivities on April 15 included academic presentations, live performances of classic French music and theater and various French-focused actvities. During lunch, students sampled French bites, sat for caricatures, and participated in pétanque and soccer.

The celebration highlighted the mission of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, with the goal of a fostering a deeper understanding of the 88 member states to promote global cultural diversity and cooperation.
