Boys' swimming wins 12th straight district title as Raiders collect 10 individual district titles
Ransom Everglades boys' swimming team won its 12th straight district title at the Florida High School Athletic Association 1A District 12 Championship at Belen Jesuit High on October 22 and the girls' team finished in second place as Raider swimmers collected three relay gold medals and seven individual district titles.
Sophie Szutkowski '28 led Ransom Everglades with four gold medals and Sophia Linfield '26 and Eleanor Kriplen '28 each nabbed three. Oliver Friedland '26 and Connor Verbrugge '28 each added a district title in an individual event. The Raiders, who had 24 top-three finishes, train under coach Franz Huggins.
At the regional championship on October 31, Lincoln Broad '26 advanced to the state meet as an individual competitor with a time of 22.20 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle. Raider relay teams in the 400 freestyle, 200 medley and 200 freestyle (girls only) also advanced to the championship in Ocala, Florida.
