Four RE seniors named National Merit Scholars

Jack He '25, Hudson Kaplan '25, Max Salomon '25 and Ethan Sullivan '25 were named 2025 National Merit Scholars and will receive $2,500 scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The students, among 2,500 scholars nationwide selected from 15,000 finalists, earned the prestigious awards in recognition of their leadership, potential for success in college, academic record, community activities and PSAT scores. Each submitted a detailed scholarship application after being named a semifinalist last fall.
The scholarship recipients were evaluated by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors. The number of winners named in each state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors.

Seventeen Ransom Everglades students were named semifinalists and, later, finalists, in the competition: Andrew Gedde '25, He, Carlos Horcasitas '25, Kaplan, Alexandra Leiser '25, Paloma Lopes '25, Tian Luan '25, Dieter Manstein '25, David Martinez '25, Victoria Pinilla '25, Salomon, Kayra Serpenguzel '25, Sullivan, Solon Sun '25, Sindhu Talluri '25, Ethan Thomas '25 and Catherine Zhou '25.
