Second annual Cooper Cultural Experience sends sophomores to LA

The second annual Cooper Cultural Experience took Ransom Everglades students to Los Angeles during spring break for an unforgettable artistic journey. Whether standing before iconic works at The Broad, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Getty, experiencing movie magic at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, viewing the striking architecture of Walt Disney Concert Hall, or taking in performances of Here Lies Love and Spamalot, students were immersed in world-class visual and performing art and design.
Dylan Beyda '28, Noelle Dubose '28, Harlan Hoenig '28, Alex Kontopoulos '28, Amalia Macias '28, Jeffrey Tong '28, Mia Vasa '28 and Isaac Zide '28 were accompanied by RE's Performing Arts Department Chair Cecilia Gonzalez and Visual Arts Department Chair Matt Stock on the March 27-31 trip. Even the culinary experiences became part of the artistic journey, reminding students that gastronomy, too, is a creative expression. The sophomores who attended the trip, one of RE's signature programs, submitted extensive applications detailing their passion for the arts.

Gonzalez shared a huge thank you to Heidi and John Cooper "for this powerful gift to our Ransom Everglades artists, one that broadened perspective, deepened artistic understanding and inspired future creative exploration!"
