Middle school band students share the spotlight at the Fall REcital

Middle school band students shared the spotlight during an interactive Fall REcital, a lively evening performance that took place at various venues across the Everglades Campus. The non-traditional concert began in Swenson Hall, where parents sat alongside their sixth-grade band students as Interim Director of Arts Cathi Leibinger directed the novice students in simple "performances" while also sharing her approach in the classroom.

The event continued with the more experienced seventh- and eighth-grade students: after a trio of solos by Alex Lombard ’29 (flute), Yifan Shen ’30 (Alto sax) and Eitan Carrasco ’29 (tuba) on the auditorium stage, students participated in solo and ensemble performances in four classrooms and the Braman Media Center.

Parents wandered from classroom to classroom, taking in the many performances that demonstrated students' growth through the middle school band curriculum.
