Successful weekend for boys crew

The boys crew team took to the waters of the Tampa Bypass Canal for its first race of the spring season at the ‘25 Tampa Spring Sprints Regatta. Missing some key rowers and coming out of the winter break, the team put seven crews onto the water in eights, fours, quads and doubles. Against many crews who have multiple races under their belts this spring, the team performed well and set off on a very good trajectory as it works its way toward the sculling state championships in six weeks and the sweep state championships in eight weeks. Highlights of the weekend’s racing were the freshman four and freshman eight which put in fast, competitive times in their first ever 1500m races. Congratulations to both crews. Additionally the first varsity four+ put in a very competitive effort and the junior two raced to a very fast first place among all scholastic programs. Congratulations to all rowers, coaches and team members for a successful season opening event. The team will now get back on the water in preparation for OARS Youth Invitational Regatta on Turkey Lake held the weekend of March 8th.
