Music legend Gloria Estefan visits the upper school for Hispanic Heritage Month celebration
Ransom Everglades welcomed music legend Gloria Estefan to the upper school as the celebrated centerpiece of a campus-wide festival marking Hispanic Heritage Month. The five-time Grammy Award winner spent several hours on campus, sitting down for a question-and-answer with students, enjoying a live performance by the RE Combo, engaging with many members of the RE community, dancing to “Conga” in the Miller Quad, and sampling delicious cuisine provided by RE families.
The visit opened with the Q-and-A in the Lewis Family Auditorium led by Latin American Student Association officers Ivanna Barroso Ruiz ‘28 and Stefano Kruger ‘28. Students were enthralled as Estefan shared her Cuban roots, musical journey and career rise. She then joined her grandson, Sasha Estefan Coppola ‘30, strolling through the Hispanic-Latino Heritage Celebration that brought the upper school campus to life.
