Rising 9-10 Grades
The LIT program is for students entering 9th and 10th grades, as they transition from day campers into future counselors. LITs receive training and instruction as well as being assigned to work with campers alongside a junior and senior counselor. The goal for LITs is to develop independence, leadership, and a sense of responsibility, while still enjoying the social aspect and activities of camp. After completing the program, LIT’s are eligible to become junior counselors in 11th and 12th grade.
An application and registration fee (upon approval of application) are required. This is a minimum 5-week commitment, which includes participation in Camp by the Bay with kindergarten through 4th-grade campers. Summer Camp Staff Orientation will be June 11 - 13. LIT's are expected to attend orientation unless they have a summer conflict.
All LIT's are expected to be able to work at least four weeks of camp between June 16 - July 25. There will be no camp on June 19, and July 3 and 4.
Spaces are limited, and candidates must submit an
online application for review and approval before registering. All students must submit a brief Letter of Interest. If you are a first-time applicant, you will also need to upload a Letter of Recommendation from at least one Ransom Everglades teacher or coach. Candidates will be notified of their application status by April 7, 2025, or on a rolling basis afterwards.
