It is my honor to be the Athletic Director of the Upper School and the head boys’ varsity basketball coach. Previously, I spent seven years at Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach, serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics, head varsity basketball coach and high school teacher. Prior to moving to Florida I served as adjunct professor and assistant basketball coach at Hawaii Pacific University. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I earned my master’s degree in education from Hawaii Pacific. In my spare time, I chase my 7-year-old daughter around Robert E. Walker Field and spend time with my wife, Sarah.

    Bio

As the Middle School Director of Athletics, it brings me pride and joy to collaborate with RE’s esteemed coaches in guiding our athletes to be the best they can be. I am currently part of a leadership cohort for athletic directors, continuing my lifelong journey for knowledge and discovering new resources and growth opportunities for our students and coaches to assist in their journeys. A Certified Master Athletic Administrator from the National Interscholastic Administrator Association, I lead our program by drawing on my experiences coaching an elite-8 collegiate basketball team and a seven-time state champion field hockey team, as well as from playing on two final-four basketball teams. I am passionate about education-based athletics to develop our athletes’ character so they may lead purposeful lives.

I could not be more excited to be a member of the Ransom Everglades community. I am the Director of the Crew Program/Head Coach, and am excited to get all of our athletes on the water and rowing faster than they ever have before. I previously served as the boatwright/rigger for the University of Miami women's rowing program, and before that my experience includes an extensive list of program directing and coaching at various clubs across the east coast, mostly in the Philadelphia/Boathouse Row area. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Marietta College in Ohio. In my free time I enjoy anything outdoors, and because we are in South Florida, boating, kayaking, and fishing have been topping that list in recent months.

    Bio

As the assistant athletic director and physical education teacher at the upper school, I enjoy fostering a sense of pride in our athletic programs and student-athletes. I am also the girls' basketball head coach and middle school football head coach. I began my Ransom Everglades journey in 2019 after teaching and coaching in New York for many years. I received my BS and MS degrees from Hofstra University and am a registered athletic administrator with educational leadership certification from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. I look forward to bringing excitement and a positive mindset to each day on our campuses.
Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it." The school provides rigorous college preparation that promotes the student's sense of identity, community, personal integrity and values for a productive and satisfying life, and prepares the student to lead and to contribute to society.
