    Bio

I am the assistant athletic director, the head boys’ varsity basketball coach and a PE instructor. Previously, I spent seven years at Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach, serving in the same roles as at Ransom Everglades, and three years as an assistant basketball coach at Hawaii Pacific University. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I earned my master’s degree in education from Hawaii Pacific. In my spare time, I chase my 5-year-old daughter around Robert E. Walker Field and spend time with my wife, Sarah.

    Bio

After 26 years of coaching young women at the collegiate and high school level, as well as teaching physical education, I became RE’s middle school athletic coordinator/assistant athletic director in 2019. My role — to assist the coaches in "becoming their best coach" and to model “obedience to the unenforceable” for our athletes — is an extension of my quest to help others be the best they can be with honor. My passion for the importance of academic-based athletics in the development of our students is abundant. When I’m not cheering on the Raiders, I might be blowing the whistle on a lacrosse or field hockey field.

    Bio

I could not be more excited to be a member of the Ransom Everglades community. I am the Director of the Crew Program/Head Coach, and am excited to get all of our athletes on the water and rowing faster than they ever have before. I previously served as the boatwright/rigger for the University of Miami women's rowing program, and before that my experience includes an extensive list of program directing and coaching at various clubs across the east coast, mostly in the Philadelphia/Boathouse Row area. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Marietta College in Ohio. In my free time I enjoy anything outdoors, and because we are in South Florida, boating, kayaking, and fishing have been topping that list in recent months.

Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it." The school provides rigorous college preparation that promotes the student's sense of identity, community, personal integrity and values for a productive and satisfying life, and prepares the student to lead and to contribute to society.
