  • Thespians excel at Florida Senior Thespian State Festival

    Thespians excel at Florida Senior Thespian State Festival

    Seven Ransom Everglades drama students excelled at the 2025 Florida Senior Thespian State Festival March 19-22 in Tampa, winning Excellent or Superior ratings for their performances. Morgan Williams '26 led RE's participants by claiming a Superior in solo musical theater as Lilah Murphy ‘27, Austin Sayfie Aagaard '26 and Flavia Contreras '28 garnered Excellent ratings. Isabella Ranawat '26 earned Excellent ratings in both solo musical theater and monologue. The students, who traveled under RE performing arts teacher Laura Montes, also had the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops and master classes led by theatre professionals from around the country.

    Two RE juniors claim national scholastic writing awards

    Connor Alfonso '26 and Patrick Keedy Brown '26 earned national medals in the 2025 Scholastic Writing Awards competition. Alfonso received a national gold medal in the humor category for "A Day at McSub King," as well as the prestigious American Voices Award, a special recognition for a small number of gold-medal winners. Keedy Brown won two national silver medals in the highly competitive poetry category for "This is Not a New Story" and "Chéad Cháisc, Ansin Earrach."

  • RE Model UN students toured the United Nations

    Upper school students travel to New York for national Model UN conference

    RE's upper school Model UN club traveled to New York City March 11-15 for the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) Conference, which attracted more than 2,000 student delegates from schools from across the world. RE fielded a team of 14 delegates that represented two Caribbean countries and lobbied their proposals to UNESCO, the World Health Assembly and several other committees. They collaborated with students from several countries to craft solutions to international issues relying on dialogue, consensus-building and simulated diplomacy.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it."
