Raiders Defeat Gulliver, Earn District Victory

The Ransom Everglades Raiders continued their strong start to the 2026–27 season Friday night, defeating district rival Gulliver Prep to earn an important district victory. After a hard-fought first half in which both teams struggled to find their rhythm offensively, the Raiders found their footing in the second half, thanks in large part to strong offensive line play and a powerful running game. Junior tailback Noah Alce ’28 led the Raiders on the ground, rushing for 105 yards on 21 carries and consistently moving the chains. Junior receiver Colton Smith ’28 also turned in a standout performance, recording six catches for 89 yards while adding a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter to give the Raiders a 13–7 lead. Sophomore quarterback Alfonzo Llanes ’29 was efficient through the air, completing 12 of 18 passes for 142 yards. Llanes also added a rushing touchdown late in the third quarter, extending the Raiders’ advantage to 20–7. The Raiders’ defense continued its impressive start to the season, limiting Gulliver to just 52 passing yards. Junior Albert Uster ’28 led the defensive effort with three tackles for loss and a sack, helping the Raiders control the game on the defensive side of the ball. With the victory, the Raiders improve to 2–0 on the season and will now turn their attention to Doral Academy. Ransom Everglades will look to move to 3–0 when the Raiders host Doral Academy this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Robert E. Walker Field.
